Newcomers
to trail hunting Week
Saturday 17 to 24 October 2026
Hunts across the country are opening their doors to anyone curious about trail hunting. No experience, special kit or riding skills needed.
The week begins on Saturday 17 October with four flagship events nationwide, followed by newcomers' meets, open kennel days and more throughout the week.
Come as you are
Join on horseback, follow on foot with beagles and bassets, or simply come along to meet the hounds and the people who care for them. With the week falling in half-term for many areas, it's a great day out for families.
A friendly welcome
At a newcomers' meet you'll be guided through the day by an experienced follower or Master who will explain what's happening and answer your questions.
